Obituary of William Fredrick Winistorf

William “Bill” F. Winistorf age 81, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at Covenant Heathcare-Harrison, with his family at his side. William was born February 2, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of the late William and Amanda (Schade) Winistorf. Bill graduated in 1958 from Saginaw High School. He was united in marriage to the former Ida Wirtz on July 1, 1961 St. St. John’s Lutheran Church, Saginaw, Michigan. Bill worked at several places over his lifetime; starting with Great Lakes Express from 1961-1977, self-employed from 1977-1982, Industrial Friction from 1982-1984 and finally retiring from Sawyer Sales 1984-2004. Bill loved spending time with his family and teaching them about their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was an Elder and Bible study leader at Redeemer Lutheran Church and most recently at Messiah Lutheran Church. He was also a Christian mentor at the Saginaw Rescue Mission for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and sharing it with his family. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ida; his three children; William (Karen) Winistorf, Kimberly (David) Stroup and Dawn (Thomas) Grauf; grandchildren, Stephanie (fiancé Jose) Taylor, Tyler (fiancé Kailee) Stroup, Haley and Hannah Stroup, Kristi (Jonathan) Dunham, Kara (Kellen) Patterson, Ashley (Marcus) Allen, Dylan (fiancé Mercedes) Taylor, Ronald Wolfe Winistorf; great-grandchildren, Evan Taylor, Bailey DeHerder, George Dunham and Gabriel Allen; sister, Nancy Brondstetter and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: Funeral services for Bill will take place Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM from Messiah Lutheran Church, 4640 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, MI 48604. Rev. Phillip M. DeVries to officiate. Cremation to follow and interment to take place in Eastlawn Cemetery at a later date.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Friday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
