Obituary of Diane R. Baase
Baase, Diane Ruth “Dee”
Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old. Diane Ruth Bailey was born on September 11, 1941 in Covington, Kentucky to the late English Anderson and Ruth (Gausepohl) Bailey. Diane graduated from Lasalette Academy in Covington, Kentucky in 1959. She met the love of her life, Henry A. Baase and they were married on November 12, 1960 in Covington, KY. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2020. Diane had been a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Albee Township and St. Josaphat Catholic Church, Carrollton, she enjoyed participating with the Altar Society, Rosary Society and choir. She loved to travel, camp, stop by the casino, and play bingo. Diane’s greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, sister and extended family making wonderful memories together.
Diane will be deeply missed by her children: Alan Baase, Troy (Sue) Baase, Lisa McMall, Todd (Laura) Baase and Lori (David) Bixby; grandchildren: Christy (Chuck), Tracy (Kevin), Justin, Shauna (Joey), Jonah, Starri, Andrea, Adam, Jennifer (Jeff), Scott (Crystal) and Errinn (Jovi); 20 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; sister, Joan Garnett and Frank Balog; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ellen (Jim) Emmendorfer, Shirley (Dennis) Tessin, Pat Boucher, Jim Barror, Linda (Jerry) Sykes, Harold (Gayle) Baase and Dale Hall. Diane is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and English Bailey; husband, Henry A. Baase; son-in-law, Allen McMall Jr.; great grandson, James Leonard; siblings-in-law: Jesse Hall, Howard Baase Jr., Emily (Virgil) Cline, Frank (Donna) Baase, Jerry Boucher Sr. and Harriett Barror.
SERVICE: A memorial service for Diane and Henry will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate. Military honors for Henry will be under the auspices of the United States Army following the memorial service. Diane’s cremated remains will be inurned with her husband, Henry, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2022, Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442.
VISITATION: Family and friends will visit at the Deisler Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. and following the service until 8:00 p.m.
