Obituary of Margaret Ann Caldwell

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at her residence. She was 91 years old. Margaret Ann Metiva was born on January 26, 1931 in Zilwaukee, Michigan to the late William and Edna (Colpean) Metiva. She married Kenneth Caldwell in 1971 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Zilwaukee. Margaret was part owner of Kens Sewing Center and worked as a seamstress and bookkeeper, retiring after several years. She was a faithful member of St. Matthews Catholic Church and later, St. John Paul II Parish as well as the Moose Club for many years. Margaret was a woman of great faith and was a prayer warrior for many.
Margaret loved singing karaoke, dancing, solving crossword puzzles and enjoyed sewing. Margaret was a sociable person and always kept an eye on her neighbors. She will be remembered for standing in her window and waving to her loved ones as they left the house. But, what Margaret really loved most was having her family around and playing cards with them.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Caldwell; children, Bonnie Ritchie, Laurie (Ennix) Buchanan and Kevin Caldwell; grandchildren, Jordan, Clarissa, Emontre, Moneek, Jaylen, Aniyah and a special adopted granddaughter, Gabrielle Genwright; several great-grandchildren and one she had a special bond with, Maleya; brothers and sisters in-law, Joyce Metiva, Charlie (Lyla) Fabbro, Roger (Ruthann) Caldwell and Bertha Sterling; special niece, Nancy Cosner and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Allan Gross; granddaughter, Krista Gross; siblings, Eloise, Elwood (Marvel), Peter (Margaret), Lawerence (Margaret), Norm (Leona), George (Katherine), Stanley (Rose), Edna (Ignaz) and William.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at St. John Paul II Parish, 469 Shattuck Rd. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate. A Committal service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
