Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary’s in Saginaw, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old. Joyce Kay Preston was born on February 26, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Chauncey and Edna Agnes (Koske) Preston. Joyce graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1963. Joyce was at a family picnic at Ojibway Island, where she met her high school sweetheart, Thomas F. Kissane. They enjoyed time with one another and were married on February 20, 1965. She was employed by Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center as a Human Resource Specialist for over 27 years, retiring in 2001. She was a faithful member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Saginaw for over 50 years. Joyce and Tom loved to RV at a number of Michigan state parks including their favorite, William Mitchell State Park in Cadillac. They enjoyed fishing, campfires, biking around Mackinaw Island, riding their blue tandem bicycle with Tom more than 1700 miles, spending time together. They also enjoyed their winter home in Brooksville, Florida for over 16 years.  

Surviving are her loving husband, Tom F. Kissane; daughters: Tami (Rick) Suwarsky, Michelle (Shelli) Antinarelli and Holli Kissane; grandchildren: Kevin and Kara Suwarsky, Kayla Antinarelli and James (Beau) Zimmermann III; brother, Richard Preston Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Floyd Preston, Dolores (Preston) Salzgeber and Ronald Preston Sr.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Rev. Fr. Richard A. Bokinski will officiate. Committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Kidney Fund.
