Obituary of Virginia Lou Vaughan

Vaughan, Virginia “Ginnie” age 90 passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2021 with family by her side. Virginia was born on February 21, 1931 the daughter of Fred and Helen (Demers) Skelton. Ginnie graduated from Saginaw High School class of 1949; where she met the love of her life Frank Vaughan. They were united in marriage on January 13, 1951; he preceded her in death on September 2, 2016.

Ginnie was a past member of the Elks Club, Germania Town and Country Club, Saginaw Club, and the Saginaw Country Club. She worked part-time for many years at Jacobson’s. Ginnie enjoyed traveling and gardening; she took great pride in her home and yard. Ginnie “was quite social” and loved getting together with her friends for lunch and visiting. But most of all Ginnie will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother and friend; family meant the world to her.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters and one son: Deborah (Douglas) Stone, Kip (Cherie) Vaughan, Renee (Brad) Schafer, Michelle “Shelly” Vaughan; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Tyler), Lacey (Aldo), Kelli (Brian), Ashley (Jim), Scott (Lisa), Trevor (Kelly), Tony, and Ryan; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ginnie was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son.

FUNERAL: A Memorial Service for Ginnie will take place Monday, December 20, 2021 at 6:00 PM. from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI  48603. Rev. Fr. Steven M. Gavit to officiate. A private inurnment of cremated remains will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday December 20, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
