William Samuel “Sammy” Lee Jr.

Saginaw, Michigan

Our loving husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Covenant Medical Center – Cooper. He was 70 years old. William Samuel Lee Jr. was born on November 19, 1951 in Lewisburg, West Virginia to the late William Samuel Sr. and Sadie (Parks) Lee. Sammy lived in West Virginia until he was 15 and moved to Saginaw with his father. Sammy worked construction and then started working for General Motors. His strong work ethic dedicated him to General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Sammy met the love of his life, Florence A. (McLaren) Mader at the Bridgeport Eagles Club. Five years later they were married on July 29, 1995 at Bridgeport Community Church. Sammy loved to fish, take trips to the casino, spend time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. He avidly watched football, golf and cheered on sports at the University of Michigan. Sammy’s strong will and love to debate will live on with his family.

His happy go lucky spirit will be greatly missed by his wife, Florence A. Lee; children: Brandy Lee, Shannon Lee, Sandra Darbos and Rosa (Jayson) Zeitz; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Sandra Lee Wilmer, Rosalyn Lee, Sabrina (Bryon) Bandridge, Dana Lee, Jana Lee; his favorite niece and nephew: Eboni Lee and Michael Lee; many nieces, nephews, extended family and his best friends: Norman Williams, Loretta King and Raymond Hicks.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; daughters: Jerri Ruth Lockwood and Carol Ann Mader.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will be held for Sammy at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Saginaw, MI 48603. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
