Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and dear friend passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was 37 years old. Marcelino Chacon Olivarez was born on September 28, 1983 in Saginaw to Sandra Dee SanMiguel and Ventura “Ben” Olivarez. He attended Arthur Hill High School. Lino worked throughout Saginaw starting at a very young age. He helped many people in his community. Lino worked for Menards as an Industrial Technician. He loved to dance to Mexican music, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Lino is survived by his wife, Sophia Marie Ann (Patillo) Olivarez who he married on July 27, 2018; his son, Marcelino Olivarez; daughter, Brianna Mitchell; father, Ventura “Ben” Olivarez; mother, Sandra Dee SanMiguel; five sisters: Becky (Melio) Pacheco, Elizabeth (Jose Luis) Martinez-Hernandez, Jessica Olivarez, Irene (Jose) Oritz, Suzanne (Raymond Delgado) Olivarez; step-children: Jackalin Taylor, Josalin Taylor, Danielle Griffin, Deja Griffin, Taylor Griffin and Mackenzie Griffin; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Vincent Olivarez, Vincent Ventrua Olivarez; sister, Yolanda Olivarez; grandparents: Ventura and Florentina (Chacon) Olivarez and Gabriel SanMinguel and Josphine Rico; cousins: Bartolo Olivarez and Katrina Rodriquez.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Rosary and prayer service and will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. Marcelino will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will be held on at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth St. Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
