Obituary of Douglas Frank

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Douglas Ward Frank went to his heavenly home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at the age of 81. Doug was born January 28, 1940 in Pigeon, Michigan. He was the son of the late Nobel and Alice (Duguid) Frank. He was united in holy marriage to Katherine (Baker) Frank on June 9, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Doug graduated from Arthur Hill High School and continued his education at Central Michigan University where he received his Master’s Degree in Education. He retired after 39 ½ years from Bridgeport High School where he taught mathematics and coached track & field and cross country. Doug was given a true gift from God through the ability to touch many people in his lifetime through teaching at school, leading Bible study groups, and coaching.

Doug was a member of Hopevale Church for over 40 years where he had the opportunity to participate in and lead many Bible study groups across the span of his life. Doug and Kay enjoyed traveling in the fall and enjoying the colors, but especially found joy in traveling to Booth Bay Harbor, Maine; which they did more than 25 times. But most of all, Doug loved spending time with his wife, family, and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kay; their three children, Rick (Kay) Frank, Steve Frank, and Mike (Danelle) Frank; seven grandchildren, Tessa, Todd, Kara (Blake), Josh, Gage, Max, and Quinten; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, and his three sisters, Helen, Joan, and Mary.
