Obituary of Sharon Kaye Benzenberg

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She was 75 years old. Sharon Kaye Wenzel was born October 2, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan. She married her beloved husband, Lee Benzenberg on March 17, 1990 at First Presbyterian Church in Saginaw. He was called home to heaven on Friday, June 25, 2021. Sharon attended Arthur Hill High School, graduating in 1963. She was employed as a secretary, working for different medical offices and her church throughout her career, retiring in 1994 after many years of service. Sharon was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw for many years.

She was a lover of animals and was a supporter of the ASPCA and various animal organizations. Sharon enjoyed sewing and doing crafts. She also loved going to bingo with her daughter Karen and going shopping and to garage sales. Sharon, loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren were the light of her life.  

Surviving are her children, Karen (James) Bedell, Rick Pack, Mary (Brad) Navarro, Ryan (Melissa) Benzenberg, and Tim (Becky) Benzenberg; grandchildren, Zachary, Trey, Madison, Kylie, Tony, Peyton, Caleb, Caden, Owen, and Reed; great-grandchild, Kinsley; brother in-law Brad (Deb) Benzenberg; sister in-law Linda (Ben) Gombar and extended family and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Pack and her parents Paul and Mary (Weisheim) Wenzel.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church of Saginaw, 121 S. Harrison Street. Rev. Dr. Robert L. Emrich will officiate. Committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Toni and Trish House.
