Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday morning, May 28, 2021 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab in Saginaw. She was 97 years old. Arlene Louise Wiliniski was born April 17, 1924 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Steven and Mabel (Demongey) Wilinski. She married John “Jack” H. Schofield on February 24, 1943. Arlene was employed by the Buena Vista School District as an administrative assistant to the Principal at Tower Lodge Elementary School, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Washington Club and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church on Outer Drive for many years.

She loved going shopping in Bay City. Arlene also enjoyed being up north at the cabin. But, what she really loved most was spending time with her family, especially with her mother. Arlene enjoyed life to the fullest, she will be missed dearly by her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, James and Kathy Schofield of Freeland, MI and Tom Schofield of Saginaw, MI; grandchildren, Amy and Jason Trahan of Norfolk, VA and Scott and Heidi Schofield of Midland, MI; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Anton Trahan and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Schofield and her sister, Evelyn Offenborn.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Andrew LaFrambois will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
