Obituary of Kathryn M. Bright

Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathryn "Katie" (Titus) Bright passed into eternal life on January 30, 2013. She lived a full and wonderful life with Robert (Bob), her husband of 64 years, and their family. He survives her and was by her side at her death just as they were side by side throughout life. Kathryn Marie Titus was born May 30, 1926 in St. Johns, Michigan to the late Leon Otis and Florence (Granger) Titus. She was raised in Saginaw and shared happy memories of her childhood and school years there with her children. Katie went to Bay City Junior College where she met the love of her life, Bob Bright. They were married on June 26, 1948 in Saginaw where they later raised their family. They both continued their education, he at University of Michigan Law School and she at Michigan State University where she graduated in 1949, thus beginning the friendly Spartan/Wolverine rivalry--which lasted all the years of their marriage. Faith and family were always Katie's top priorities. She was an active member of St. Stephen Church and School where all of her children attended. From elementary school playground duty and serving hot dog lunches to chaperoning high school dances, Katie could be found at almost every church and school event. This is where she and Bob developed a wonderful circle of friends that lasted throughout the child-rearing years and into retirement and relocations. Katie will be remembered with great love by her husband, Robert; 8 children, Mary (Patrick) VanTiflin of Clarkston, Susan Bright of Ypsilanti, Kathleen (Mark) Smith of Ann Arbor, Bob Bright of Saginaw, Patricia (Michael) Griffin of Milwaukee, WI, Martha (Michael) Buckmaster of Saginaw, Anne (Brian) Frost of Saginaw, and Joseph (Pamela) Bright of Wausau, WI; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and dear sister-in-law, Dorothy Titus of East Tawas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Titus; and sister, Margaret LaLonde. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Rev. Fr. Pat O'Connor will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 1425 E.
