Obituary of Christine M. Brass

BRASS, Christine M. of Saginaw Township, Michigan passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013. She was 58 years old. Christine Marie Beitz was born on May 15, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Wilbur "Dixie" and Edna (Brieske) Beitz. She married Gregory Brass on August 9, 1975 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan. Christine graduated Valedictorian from St. Stephen High School with the Class of 1972. She worked for 30 years as a bookkeeper for the Catholic Weekly Newspaper. She enjoyed reading and country music concerts. Christine always had a smile and a positive attitude. She loved taking care of her family and making friends with everyone she met. Surviving are husband of 37 years, Gregory of Saginaw; daughter, Kelli Pitts of Midland; brother, William and wife, Lynette Beitz of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Mary Kay Cummings of Toledo, OH and Barbara Lake of Lansing; father-in-law, Raymond Brass; brother-in-law, Mark and wife, Rhonda Brass of St. Augustine, FL; sister-in-law, Karen and husband, Tim Giacoletti of Brighton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Christine was preceded in death her parents; mother-in-law, Dorothy Brass; and brother-in-law, Norman Cummings. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd. Rev. Fr. James R. Carlson will officiate. Cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., as well as on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
