Obituary of Mary G. Harden

HARDEN, Mary G. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan. She was 89 years old. Mary Tuhy was born on April 27, 1923 in Saginaw to the late Martin and Mary Margaret (Enright) Tuhy. She married Robert J. Harden on September 21, 1946 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2005. Mary graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1941. She was owner of Tuhy's News Stand in Saginaw for many years. Mary was an active member at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's of Michigan and was a member of the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary. Left to cherish her memory are four sons, three daughters and their spouses: R. James (Paula) Harden of Lowell, Margaret Rodriguerz of Belleville, Hannah (Peter) O'Toole of Saginaw, Martin Tuhy (Lori) Harden of Novi, Betsy (James) Wilber of Elmhurst IL, Paul Harden of Roseville, MN, and Dennis Harden of Columbus, OH; 19 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; son-in-law, Evaristo Rodriguez; and her cousin, Betsy Kerns. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. A Vigil Service will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Mary will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
