Obituary of Jessie De La Cruz

DE LA CRUZ, Jessie "Susie", of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan. She was 93 years of age. Jessie M. Delvalle was born on September 25, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Manuel and Francisca (Gonzales) Delvalle. She was married to Andres De La Cruz on September 28, 1935 in New Castle, PA. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1993. Jessie was a loyal member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, liked to dance, loved her family and her Mexican music. Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Andres and wife, Ruby De La Cruz, Jr., Raul De La Cruz, Lucille Castillo, Hope Castellon, and Consuelo De La Cruz Zamudio; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Sally Saldana; one brother, Ralph and wife, Elaine Delvalle; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of over 55 years, Andres; daughter, Rachel Rodriguez; three sisters, Cora Rueda, Esperanza "Hope" Pardo, and Frances Chavez; two brothers, Manuel Delvalle, Jr. and Jesse Delvalle; and two sons-in-law, Manuel Castellon and Frank Castillo. FUNERAL- Jessie's Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 North 6th Avenue. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Right of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Jessie's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening, family and friends will gather at the funeral for a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday morning, Jessie will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS- Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Joseph Catholic Church.
