Obituary of Oliver LeRoy Nephew

NEPHEW, Oliver LeRoy of Frankenmuth, Michigan passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. Age 73 years. Oliver L. Nephew was born on March 12, 1937, in Bay County, Michigan, to the late Ralph and Alma (Kennedy) Nephew, Sr. He married Lucille Anne Jacobs on September 28, 1957, she preceded him in death on April 4, 2007. Oliver worked as Die Set Operator with Buick until his retirement. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Oliver was a loving husband, father and grandfather; he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are three sons and a daughter: Gary (Karen) Nephew, Craig (Violet) Nephew, Keith (Chris) Nephew and Diane Nephew; ten grandchildren; and a great granddaughter. Also surviving are brothers: John (Dori) Nephew, Ralph (Sandy) Nephew Jr., Leonard (Jan) Nephew, Richard (Julia) Nephew, Dan Nephew and Henry (Loretta) Draves and a sister-in-law, Donna Nephew. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Anne Nephew and a brother, Tom Nephew. Oliver's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers of Independence Village. FUNERAL- Oliver's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd. Rev. Fr. John Mancini OSFS will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum in Bay City. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Oliver's family at St. Christopher Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Christopher Catholic Church. Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with Oliver's family at the church or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
