MURRAY, Margaret (86) of both Saginaw and Beaverton, Michigan, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital. Margaret Schmieder was born on September 2, 1924 in Saginaw to the late Maude Smith Siems and was raised by Maude and John Siems. She married John P. Murray on July 3, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while John was attending the U.S. Army Air Corps Aviation School at the University of Pittsburgh. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1994. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Estey and the Elks Lodge in Albright Shores. Margaret loved her home in Albright Shores, had a green thumb and liked nothing better than fishing off her dock. Surviving are a daughter and three sons: Jacqulyn DuPeron, of Saginaw, John P. Murray, Jr. of Saginaw, Michael (Teresa) Murray of Enid, Oklahoma, and Patrick (Shawn) Murray of Coleman; she was known as "Gram" to 16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Bill Siems, and a sister, Dorothy (Arnold) Quaal. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Douglass Murray; two brothers, Chris "Bud" Schmieder and Clarence "Sonny" Schmieder. A special thanks goes out to those who befriended and provided care to Margaret including her neighbor Carol Troupe and the loving staff of Select Specialty Hospital. FUNERAL: Margaret's Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Billings Township Cemetery in Albright Shores. Pastor Richard C. Popard will officiate. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the cemetery from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Salvation Army, East Side Soup Kitchen or the City Rescue Mission.
