Obituary of Anna Marie Illikman

ILLIKMAN, Anna Marie of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully at age 80, on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Hoyt Nursing Home surrounded by her family. Anna was born May 28, 1930 in Saginaw to the late G. Charles and Isabell (Bommarito) Binasio. She attended Arthur Hill High School and graduated in 1948. Anna married John A. Illikman on February 7, 1959 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Saginaw. Anna was a long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She retired from Saginaw County after working in the Clerk's Office and Prosecutor's Office. Anna leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, John A.; four children: John T. (Sharon) Illikman, New Ulm, Minnesota, Mary Ann (David) Cole, Kawkawlin, Susan (Michael) Stuart, Bridgeport, and James (Susan) Illikman, Commerce Township. Grandchildren that will miss Grandma Annie: Sarah Stuart, Andrew Illikman, Adam Stuart, Ruth Ann Illikman, Monica Illikman, Anna Cole, Christav (CJ) Illikman, Matthew Cole and Ryan Illikman along with many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are four sisters: Katherine Santino, Angeline Brissette, Emma Metevier, and Grace (Elmer) Thompson; a brother, Joseph Binasio; and Frances (Joey) King. Anna was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Santino; a brother, Phillip Binasio; a sister-in-law, Ann Binasio and three brothers-in-law: Frank Santino, Harry Brissette, and Paul Metevier. Anna's family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living and Hoyt Nursing Home. Their care and compassion are sincerely appreciated and will never be forgotten. FUNERAL - Anna's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington. Fr. Thomas Schmied, Capuchin, will officiate, with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION - Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Anna will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS - Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter or St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
