Obituary of David S. Henne

HENNE, David S. of Saginaw, Michigan, beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare. He was 92 years old. David was born on September 10, 1918 in Saginaw, to the late Samuel and Effie (Ehmcke) Henne. He married Arlene Ryder, on December 1, 1939; she predeceased him on November 14, 2005. David served as a M.P. during World War II. David worked as a Policeman for the City of Saginaw. He owned Henne Moving and Storage Company. David was a pilot and belonged to the Civil Air Patrol. He was an amateur photographer, HAM Radio operator, fisherman and hunter. David was a member of First United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Gary) Matson; a son, David J. Henne both of Saginaw; two granddaughters: Lisa (Eric) Larson and Suzanne (Steve) Burns; 6 great grandchildren; and a life long friend, William Daugharty. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bryce Henne and a stepmother, Gertrude Eib. FUNERAL- David's Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Road in Saginaw. Rev. Kathryn S. Snedeker will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 1859. VISITATION-Friends are welcome to visit with David's family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
