SCHRAMM, Benjamin F. of Thomas Township, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. Age 81 years. Benjamin F. Schramm was born on January 16, 1930 in Saginaw to the late Caroline Schramm. He was married to Arlene E. Manor on November 4, 1950 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. She preceded him in death on August 16, 2004. Ben proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by R.C. Hendrick & Sons until his retirement in 1990 after more than 30 years of service. For many years Ben worked as a night watchman at the St. Vincent Home and was the longest standing parishioner at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Surviving are seven children: Thomas (Suzie) Schramm of Winter Haven, Florida, David (Carol) Schramm of Ypsilanti, Norman (Letha) Schramm of St. Charles, Wayne (Cheri) Schramm of Saginaw, Dawn (Michael) Frederick of Midland, Kenneth (Bambi) Schramm of Rhodes, and Dennis (Terry) Schramm of Breckenridge; 48 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his in-laws: Keith (Pat) Hammis: Sally Ray and Marge Schrems. He was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers: Marie (Chet) Hardy, Edward (Marion) Schramm, Floyd (Nellie) Schramm, Alberta (Leroy) Bishop, Oscar (Marion) Schramm, Allen (Louise) Schramm, Dorothy (Dwayne) Dingman; and two Grandsons: Matthew and Jamie Schramm. FUNERAL - Benjamin's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION - Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Sr. Marie Markel, IHM. Benjamin will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
