Obituary of Wynn Paul McDonald

McDonald, Wynn Paul of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was 48 years old. Wynn McDonald was born on July 2, 1962 in Fort Worth, Texas to Paul J. and Betty (Wynn) McDonald. He marred Leslie Rischack on November 20, 1994 in Chesaning; she survives him. Wynn was passionate about teaching and education; he was honored and proud to follow in his parent's footsteps as an educator. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from SVSU and a Master's Degree from CMU. He was most recently employed with Northwood University as an Admission Representative and Transfer Coordinator. Wynn had also worked for SVSU, Delta College and Davenport University. He was integral in developing SVSU's first December graduation. Wynn was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was also a Mason with the Masonic Lodge #441 He also loved spending time with his daughter and his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Leslie McDonald; a daughter, Heather Lynn Gibson; a mother, Betty Hanrahan; two dear grandchildren: Joseph George Gibson, Jr. and Reagan Lynn Schacher. Also surviving are many cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Atwood "Woody" McDonald and his father, Paul J. McDonald. FUNERAL: Wynn's memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Road. Pastor Mark Buckert will officiate. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, March 4, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In accordance with Wynn's wishes cremation will follow the visitation. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
