Obituary of Beverly Jean Thompson

THOMPSON, Beverly Jean of Saginaw, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Brittany Manor surrounded by her family. She was 79 years old. Beverly Jean Wagner was born on September 12, 1931 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to the late Milan and Delores (Plasvic) Wagner. She married Allen H. Thompson on May 18, 1953 in Saginaw at St. Andrew Church; he preceded her in death on April 28, 1978. Beverly was employed as an office manager until her retirement. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church. Beverly graduated from St. Andrew High School and belonged to the Alpha Sigma Kappa. She loved to garden, cook, collect recipes and spend time with her family especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Beverly enjoyed living in her Florida home until she moved back to Michigan to be closer to her family. Surviving are three daughters and two sons: Cindy Gulvas of Traverse City, Christine Hopkins of Saginaw, Holly (Bradley) Gulvas of Northern, VA, Scott (Jill) Thompson of Freeland, and Trent (Sandy) Thompson of Shields; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. A son, Mark, preceded Beverly in death. FUNERAL: Beverly's Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastoral Associate Audrey Wilson will officiate with burial to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Beverly's family at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
