Obituary of Franklin R. Lemiesz

Please share a memory of Franklin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
LEMIESZ, Franklin R., Jr. of Saginaw Township, loving father and devoted husband was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on December 12, 2012. Although we are deeply saddened by the sudden loss of our father, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is finally reunited with his beloved wife and best friend, our mother Jacqueline M. Lemiesz who predeceased Frank on December 4, 2004. Frank was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 25, 1930, later moving to Bay City, Michigan where he owned and operated Franks Barber Shop alongside his father at 206 Marquette Ave. in Bay City. Frank served in the National Guard and the United States Air Force along with many of his friends with whom he remained close with over the years. He returned home and attended Bay City Junior College where he met his wife to be, Jacqueline M. Coffey. They were married January 28, 1956 and spent 48 wonderful years together. Frank was a certified master barber and retired from General Motors in 1984. He spent his retirement fishing, gardening, listening to Jazz, meeting new friends, sharing laughter, stories of old-times, relatives and family, which was his greatest joy. Frank loved his special coffee dates with his son Brian on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Tim Horton's which they never missed. Their time together will be a cherished memory in his heart. Frank and Jackie had four children: Brian (LuAnn), Lemiesz, Kathleen (Andrew) Kostrzewa, Maureen (James) Manning and Karyn Lemiesz; five grandchildren: Matthew Scott, Andrew Patrick, Samantha Ryanne, Alexandria Anne and Brittany Elizabeth. Frank was predeceased by his mother and father, Irene and Frank Lemiesz (St. Petersburg, Florida); his sister, Gloria, and brother-in-law, Wilford Pfund (Sheperd, Michigan) and the love of his life, Jacqueline. He leaves behind several dear friends, sister and brothers-in law, their children, extended family and his beloved Wisconsin Badger Football Team. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will place 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 17, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Rite of Committal and Military honors will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery conducted under the auspices of VFW Post 1859.
