Obituary of James R. Fritzler

FRITZLER, James R. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at his home with his family at his side. He was 74 years old. James R. Fritzler was born on October 10, 1938 in Saginaw to the late William Sr. and Mary (Griffor) Fritzler. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Dolfi on July 25, 1959 in Saginaw; she survives him. James was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1956. Following graduation, James proudly enlisted as a United States Marine. He was honorably discharged in January 1960. After returning from the Military, James began working as a Police Officer for the Saginaw Police Department. He then began working as a Court Reporter, eventually starting his own firm, Tri-City Court Reporters. James was also President of the Michigan Court Reporters Association. He was also a very talented musician, starting his own band, J.R. Country Band. James was proud to be inducted into the Michigan Country Music Hall of Fame. He was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a 50 year member of the YMCA. James truly enjoyed spending time with his family and playing both hand ball and music. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; a daughter and three sons: Cynthia (Kris) Miotto, Steve (Denise) Fritzler, Doug Fritzler and Greg (Lynda) Fritzler; six grandchildren: Nichole, Joel, Alex, Trent, Mitchell, and Kendra; three brothers: William (Sharon) Fritzler, Carl (Rose) Fritzler and John (Sandy) Fritzler; his best friend, Nipper; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Charna and Mary Lynn.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Robert DeLand will officiate. Burial and Military Honors will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Agnes Catholic Church. Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
