Obituary of Raquel Vargas Enriquez

ENRIQUEZ, Raquel Vargas of Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at her home with her family at her side. She was 87 years old. Raquel was born on July 16, 1923 in Zamora, Mexico to the late Francisco and Maria (Rios) Vargas. She married Jose G. Enriquez on May 28, 1950 in Mexico City DF Mexico; he preceded her in death on February 23, 1998. Raquel was a woman of strong faith. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of La Rondalla choir. Raquel was a skilled seamstress and an excellent cook. She was a wonderful gardener and enjoyed caring for her beautiful roses. Most of all, Raquel cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured the time they spent together. Surviving are three daughters and a son: Rosa (Lupe) Carreon of Saginaw, Silvia (Matthew) Blossom of Marshall, Josefina (fiancé Juan Villarreal) Enriquez of Saginaw, and Armando Enriquez of Huntington Beach, CA; four grandchildren: Jaime (Travis) Benzin, Julie Blossom, Jacob Carreon and Seth Blossom; and one brother: Porfirio Vargas of Mexico. FUNERAL: Raquel's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev Fr. Francis Voris OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Raquel's family at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
