SULFRIDGE-PARKER, Peggy of Saginaw passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Meadow View Manor surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old. Agnes "Peggy" Elizabeth Potts was born October 6, 1921 to the late Thomas Russell and Gladys Marguerite (Dungee) Potts. Peggy was married to Dr. Hugh L. Sulfridge in 1945 in Detroit. Peggy and Hugh then moved to Saginaw where they raised their family. She then married John M. Parker in 1978 and he preceded her in death. Peggy was a graduate of Michigan State University and then furthered her nursing studies at Harper Hospital Nursing School in Detroit. She was involved with the People to People Organization and was influential in Saginaw becoming a sister city with Tokushima, Japan. Peggy enjoyed being a leader for Saginaw County 4-H. She also was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Ninety-Nines, International Organization of Women Pilots. Peggy is survived by her four children: Rebecca Wynn, Mary Elizabeth (John) Phillips, Peter (Sue) Sulfridge and Martha Ellen (Larry Knox) Sulfridge; four grandchildren: Toby (Jennifer) Rogers, Nicholas (Rebecca) Sulfridge, Homer Charles Williams and Taylor (Paul) Moreira; six grandchildren; and her former husband, Dr. Hugh L. Sulfridge. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas R. Potts and Charles E. Potts. MEMORIAL SERVICE: According to Peggy's wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2011 at First Congregational Church, 403 S. Jefferson St., Saginaw. Dr. Todd Farley and Dr. Charles J. Guerreno, Jr. will co-officiate. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to First Congregational Organ Restoration Fund.
