Obituary of Alice Marie Sieggreen

SIEGGREEN, Alice Marie (Wolohan) of Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at her home with her family at her side. She was 72 years old. Alice Marie Wolohan was born on October 21, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late John Edward and Mary Gertrude (Wenn) Wolohan. She was raised in Birch Run, Michigan and attended St. Mary's High School and Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She married Dr. Gerald Sieggreen on August 19, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Birch Run; he survives her. Alice possessed a lifelong love for helping others, a trait that was especially evident in the time and energy she devoted to the medical profession. A registered nurse, Alice worked or volunteered at several medical facilities during her career, most recently at St. Francis Home. She also served as past president of the Saginaw County Woman's Medical Auxiliary. Alice was a long-time, active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and her personal life was marked by her strong faith and love of family. Her warm smile and generous spirit will remain a lasting memory for all her loved ones and friends. Surviving besides her loving husband, Gerald are her children: John (Cathy) Sieggreen, Angela O'Hare, Anna Sieggreen-Beins, Mary Alice (Stephen) Dombrowski; her grandchildren: Alicia, Charlotte, Henry, Emily, Hunter, Helen, Isabelle, Walter and John; and her sister, Ann (Louis, deceased) Walsh. FUNERAL: Alice's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. David L. Parsch will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, April 25, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Alice will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
