Obituary of Chrystal G. Toft

TOFT, Chrystal Gene (Hazen) of Saginaw, MI passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. She was 92 years old. Chrystal Gene Easley was born June 19, 1918 in LaPlata, MO to the late Jett and Phoebe (Craiggs) Easley. She married Carman C. Hazen on September 17, 1939 in Detroit, MI. He preceded her in death in August of 1971. Chrystal then married John I. Toft in December of 1972. He preceded her in death in December of 1976. She graduated from High School in Kirksville, Missouri. Upon graduating, she attended Northeastern Missouri State Teachers College (Truman State). Chrystal was a member of First Congregational Church, Saginaw Osteopathic Auxiliary and the Garden Club. She also volunteered and assisted with the 50 and holding group and enjoyed painting. Above all, Chrystal loved and cherished her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons: Dr. Lawrence (Christine) Hazen and Dr. Ronald C. (Dorothy) Hazen; four grandchildren: Dr. Greg (Natalie) Hazen, Beth Hazen, Nicole (Todd) Hazen-Bushbaker and Ronald J. Hazen; seven great grandchildren: Annika and Lukas Bushbaker, Grant, Riley and Carter Hazen, Phoebe and Brendan Trier; and three step-daughters: Nancy Marvin, Janet Franke, and Sally Collins. Chrystal was preceded in death by a sister, Eunice Noble and a brother, Carl Easley. MEMORIAL SERVICE: According to Chrystal's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Rev. Don Noble will officiate. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
