RISTAU, Kathleen "Kitty" Ann, a lifetime Saginaw Township resident, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2011 in Holland, Michigan. Kitty was 81 years of age. Kathleen Ann Laundra was born on February 2, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Harold and Alma (Schrems) Laundra. She was married to Theodore Ristau on October 22, 1955. He predeceased her on August 5, 2000. Kitty was a founding member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She volunteered with Friends of the Zaul Library. Kitty was a longtime and active member of The Pit and Balcony Community Theater and the Saginaw Serendipity Club. She enjoyed playing Bridge, sewing, quilting, traveling and attending the theater, lectures and the symphony. Surviving are two daughters and two sons; Laura (Richard) Falk-of Arvada, CO, Brian (Karen) Ristau of Holland, MI, Melanie (Gary Nipper) Ristau of Fayetteville, NC and Peter (Wasana) of Perth, Australia; ten grandchildren; Shawn and Christina Falk, Christopher and Corey Ristua, Emily, Ellen and Sarah Schulz, John, Keena and Waneesa Ristau; three brothers and a sister; Charles Laundra, Jack (Karen) Laundra, Robert (Geraldine) Laundra, and Margaret (Robert) Bieska and a sister-in-law, Anne Laundra. Kitty was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister; Richard Laundra, Thomas Laundra and Mary Hudson. FUNERAL- Kitty's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at St. St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. VISITIATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Kitty's family on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Kitty will lie in state at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass. MEMORIALS- As an expression of sympathy please consider a memorial to Saginaw City Rescue Mission or Heartland Hospice. .
