SOTO, Mary of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Saginaw Senior Care & Rehab Center surrounded by her family. She was 82 years old. Mary Flores was born on January 12, 1929 in Ft. Madison, Iowa to the late Joe Pimentel and Catalina Martinez. She married Robert G. Soto on January 27, 1946 in Saginaw at St. Joseph Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2010. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She graduated from St. Joseph High School and was a member of the Girls Club. Mary then was employed with Saginaw Paper Manufacturing in 1943 and Saginaw Home Dairy in the 1960's. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her five children: Angelo (Anita) Soto of Saginaw, Pauline Lyle of Southfield, Eloisa (Soto) Keahey and Roberta Soto all of Saginaw, Manuel Soto of Saginaw; nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister, Josie (Tomas) Tovar of Saginaw; a special brother and sister-in-law, Elias (Eva) Soto of Texas; two brothers-in-law: Felipe Soto and Abelardo Soto both of Texas; three sisters-in-law: Alma Pasillas of California, Rosa Perez and San Juanita Flores both of Texas. Mary was preceded in death by a son, Robert Soto, Jr.; a daughter, Theodora Soto; sister, Pauline Rodriguez; a brother, Juan Flores; and a niece, Cathy Pimentel. The family would like to extend extreme gratitude and appreciation to Mary's great grandson, Angelo Soto, Jr.; great great-granddaughters: Gabriella Soto and Izabella Soto daughter, Roberta Soto, her grandson, Juan Soto, a niece, Joanne (Tovar) Harvey, the Staff of St. Mary Hospital 5 North, the Saginaw Senior Care Center and Hospice of Michigan for the love and care they provided. FUNERAL: Mary's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service for Mary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mary will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hospice of Michigan.
