FEDERICO, Donald F. of Saginaw, MI passed on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper with his family at his side. He was 82 years old. Donald F. Federico was born October 7, 1928 in Saginaw to the late Anthony J. and Helen (Pellettier) Federico. He married Rena M. Gross on July 22, 1950 she preceded him in death on November 28, 1991. Don owned and operated Pure Oil Gas Station, and he was also employed by Bruce Cartage Trucking Company as a truck driver. He then worked at General Motors as a press operator, retiring with over 30 years of service. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #593, Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He loved hunting, fishing, fixing cars and tinkering around in his garage. Don also enjoyed traveling north to his cottage in Curtisville, and spending time at Soaring Eagle Casino. Don is survived by three daughters and three sons: Linda (Ronald) Willard, Robert (Sally) Federico, William Federico, Catherine (James) Wendling, Donald Federico and Carolyn "Tootie" (Michael) Fisher; nine grandchildren: Scott (Dana) Wojciechowski, Chad (Anjanette) Wojciechowski, Anthony (Jen) Federico, Amy (Mike) Ventimiglia, Joseph Federico, Katelyn Wendling, Charles Maxwell, Michael Fisher and Nikki Fisher; 11 great grandchildren; a special friend Loretta Kratz, and a special aunt, Jean Pellettier; a sister, Joan Turek; five brothers: Robert Federico, Thomas (Karen) Federico, James Federico, Gerald (Mary) Federico and Lawrence (Marilyn) Federico. Also surviving are many nieces nephews and a special nephew, Tim Dupuis. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Candice Fisher and a sister, Patricia Dupuis. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Don will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Road. Rev. Fr. David L. Parsch will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), on Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Don will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
