Obituary of William H. Moore

MOORE, William "Bil" H. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison. He was 89 years old. William H. Moore was born on July 12, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moore. He was later raised by his father and step-mother, Florence Meek. He married Elaine E. Goerlitz on April 24, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan; she preceded him in death on September 27, 2002. "Bil with one L" proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945. While in the military, he served in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. His military pride carried on throughout his life and he was a member of the American Legion Post #439 and the Disabled American Veterans. Later, his career would take him to American Tobacco, where he was a salesman for 35 years until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Bil's hobbies included collecting many things, as well as, drawing and painting. Surviving are son, Robert Moore of Oregon; daughter-in-law, Linda Moore; grandchildren, Malia Moore, Anthony (Dawn) Moore, Michael Moore, Jr., Paul Miller, and Adam Trevino; sister-in-law, Marlene Oliver; nephew, Robert (Laura) Niederstadt; nieces, Kimberly (Tom) Knoll, Lisa (Robert) Barnette, and Jill Niederstadt; and good friend, Andrew Lindloff. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Moore, Sr. and his half-sister. FUNERAL: Funeral service will take place 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home. Pastor James Krueger will officiate with burial to follow in Columbia Township Cemetery, Unionville, Michigan. VISITATION: Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State) on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm.
