Obituary of Ruth A. French

FRENCH, Ruth A. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Manors. She was 92 years old. Ruth A. Kruse was born on February 25, 1920 in Saginaw to the late Irving G. H. and Orpha (VanBuskirk) Kruse. She married George O. French on July 6, 1950 in Traverse City; he preceded her in death on September 18, 2005. Ruth graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1937. She was employed with General Motors at the Saginaw Metal Castings until her retirement in 1982. She was a U.A.W. member and retiree. Ruth was an active member of State Street United Methodist Church. She loved baseball, football, and especially tennis. Ruth will be remembered for her excellent mind, great sense of humor, and contagious laughter. While she treasured time spent with all of her friends and family, Ruth especially cherished her relationships with her nieces and nephews. Ruth is survived by two brothers: Louis I. (Mildred) Kruse of Saginaw, Richard J. A. (Phyllis) Kruse of L'Anse. Also surviving are many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine E. Brennan. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Ruth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012 at State Street United Methodist Church, 3617 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Douglas Leffler will officiate with entombment to follow in Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ruth will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
