DUCLOS, Lillian (Lil) A. of Thomas Twp., MI passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Caretel Inns of Tri City after a brief illness. She was 81 years old. Lillian D. Ashworth was born July 3, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to the late Theodore and Helen (Wild) Ashworth. She married Walter J. Duclos on February 29, 1952 in St. Louis, MO, and celebrated 37 years together. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1990. Lillian was a graduate of St. Louis, MO Public School System and then continued her education at St. Louis University, Delta College and Saginaw Valley State University. Lillian worked in the accounting department at Chevrolet Manufacturing, as an Executive Secretary at the Saginaw Division, and then as a Real Estate Salesperson for Morgan Real Estate and Betty King Real Estate. She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Saginaw. Lillian past affiliations were with: USO Hostess, St. Louis, MO, past President of Saginaw Life Underwriter's Auxiliary, Saginaw Valley State University Entrepreneurs Club, Delphi - Saginaw Member of GMC Salaried Retiree's Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Hardwood Condo Association and volunteered for the VA Hospital in St. Louis and Saginaw, Martin Luther Home and St. Luke's Hospital (now Covenant). In her free time Lillian enjoyed golfing and held past memberships with the Bridgeport Country Club, Saginaw Country Club, the Valley Golf Association and was a present member of the Bay City Country Club. Lillian was the dear mother of two children: Katherine "Katy" (Randall) Koelb of Berkley, MI and Charles Duclos of Kalamazoo; loving grandmother of Brent and Kelly Race; wonderful friend and companion of 15 years to Robert "Bob" Kamm of Saginaw Twp.; and her "sister like" friend, Betty Rubert of Bridgeport. She was also survived by many nephews and nieces who were dear to her: David (Bonnie) Duclos, Randy Duclos, Tom (Terri) Duclos, Susan Newkirk, Bill (Robin) Duclos and Liz (Tom) Emery; and a very close cousin, Ginny (Bill) Beck. FUNERAL: Lillian's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Mark Buckert will officiate. According to Lillian's wishes cremation will follow the funeral service. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Lillian will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Music Fund or the Saginaw City Rescue Mission.
