Obituary of Augustin Banda

BANDA, Augustin Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was 59 years old. Augustin Banda, Jr. was born on January 19, 1953 in Saginaw to the late Augustin and Gregoria (Teniente) Banda. He married Linda Compian on March 31, 1973 in Saginaw; she survives him. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving besides his beloved wife, Linda; are a son, Augustin (Tanya) Banda III; a daughter, Christina (Michael Aguilar) Banda; six-grandchildren: Antonio, Anastasia, Austin, Larissa, Santino and Michael; two brothers and one sister: Jesus (Maria) Banda, Lorenzo (Chun-Kyong) Banda, Elvera (Juan) Morin, a brother-in-law, Rico Reyes. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Augustin was preceded in death by a brother, David Banda. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy honoring Augustin will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 9, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening. Augustin will lie in state at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
