Amador, Dora Saginaw, Michigan Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on Friday evening, January 8, 2021 at DMC Harper University Hospital in Detroit. She was 84 years old. Dora Teneyuque was born September 13, 1936 in Maxwell, Texas to the late Anaestacio and Urbana (Rodriguez) Teneyuque. She married Nick T. Amador on November 19, 1955 in Saginaw, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2020. Dora was employed by St. Mary's Catholic School as a custodian retiring after 20 years of service. She was a faithful and active member of St. Georges Catholic Church of Saginaw for many years. Dora enjoyed taking trips to the casino and had a love for playing bingo. She was a great cook and took great joy in preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. Dora would make a yearly pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle National Shrine in San Juan, Texas where she would pray for her loved ones before continuing on to her visit with her family. To her family, she was known as CNN because of her love of watching the news channel and was the go to for any family information, often found with a phone on each shoulder. What she loved most of all was, spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Herb (Rita Marie) Sanchez, Teresa Garcia, Helen (Teddy) Rodriguez, Nick (Sophie) Amador Jr., Ernest Amador, Arthur (Linda) Amador, and Mark (Victoria) Amador; twenty one grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Connie DeLeon, Gloria Morales, and Raymond Teneyuque; special nieces and nephews of the Pacheco family; special nieces, Betty Pacheco-Gonzalez and Sylvia Teneyuque, and many nieces and nephews. Dora was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nick T. Amador; five brothers and five sisters. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Private Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit with officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
