Obituary of Marsha D. Mazany

Mazany, Marsha Dawn Saginaw, Michigan Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Sunday evening, December 20, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw. She was 72 years old. Marsha Dawn Street was born February 1, 1948 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Francis and Dora (Bacon) Street. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School. Marsha went on to attend college at Central Michigan University, where she earned a master's degree and was working toward her PhD. She married Donald M. Mazany on December 22, 1973 in Saginaw, he survives her. She was employed by Saginaw Township Community Schools as a teacher at Heritage High School, retiring after 37 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered her time tutoring children at Holy Cross Children's Services - Saint Vincent Home. Marsha was a caring person, always going out of her way to help others. Her adventurous spirit led her to wonderful places such as Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, Canada, England, and the Caribbean. While traveling, she enjoyed sightseeing and taking in the natural beauty of the landscape. Marsha also liked seeing the architecture of the many different regions she visited. She also loved her trips to Las Vegas to visit her daughter, Cadence. Marsha was a beach enthusiast and had a passion for sailing, boating, and kayaking. She loved vacationing near the water where she could enjoy those activities. Marsha was known as being creative; she made beautiful artwork, loved sewing, and decorating for the holidays. She had an interest in trying new restaurants, especially if it was an Italian restaurant. Marsha loved to challenge herself with puzzles. She enjoyed going to the theater, whether it was to watch a movie or take in a play. Marsha also had a passion for gardening. She spent a lot of her time tending to the plants and flowers and feeding the fish in her pond. What she really loved most was spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Donald M. Mazany of Saginaw; daughter, Cadence M. (Jordan) Hufty of Las Vegas; mother, Dora Betty Kathleen Street of Saginaw; brother, Stewart Street of Saginaw; brothers and sisters in-law, Michael (Desiree) Mazany of Kenai, Alaska, Martin (Kathy) Mazany of Horton, Michigan, and Mark (Vickie) Sullivan of Saginaw; nieces and nephews, Bryan White, Jenelle Watrous, Andrew Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Matthew Mazany, David Mazany, Gina Mazany, Brett Mazany, and Jill Mazany; the family would like to thank Marsha's lifelong friends for their special friendship, Julie Colpean, Kelly Darland, and Gloria Dell; Marsha is also survived by her special neighbors, Roger (Donna) Trombley, Aaron (Kathryn) Fanning, Sergio (Trisha) Dominguez, Mark (Marcia) Kowalski, Dennis (Pamela) McMahan, and Judy Ursuy of Powell, Wyoming. Marsha was preceded in death by her father, Francis Street. MEMORIAL SERVICE: In keeping with Marsha's wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mazany family is planning to hold a Memorial Service at a later date in 2021. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to The Humane Society of Saginaw County, Inc. or Holy Cross Children's Services - Saint Vincent Home.
