Obituary of Herman J. Megerle

Megerle, Herman J. Saginaw, Michigan Our loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare - Harrison. He was 93 years old. Herman J. Megerle was born on June 1, 1927 to the late Emma (Hoegerl) and Karl F. Megerle in Saginaw. He graduated in 1945 from Arthur Hill Trade School. He was then drafted in the United States Army, serving in Germany honorably during World War II. Herman returned to Saginaw and worked for Hickey Auto Sales as a Service Manager. He then worked as an electrician with Schermhein Electric. Herman married Ardis Goslin, and together they had three children: Randy, Kathy and Mike. During retirement, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, spending time at his cabin at Higgins Lake and woodworking. Herman is survived by his daughter, Kathy; sister, Mrs. Ann Zazo; grandchildren: Miranda (Brandon), Michael, Jeff, Rick, Gretchen, Douglas and Nicholas; many great grandchildren; long-time friends, Lee Bradley and Dr. Dennis Bojrab; many nieces, nephew, cousins and extended family and friends. Herman was preceded in death by parents; former wife; sister, Elizabeth; sons: Randy and Mike and his wife, Debby. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy for Herman will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Dominic Parish - Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan Ave., Saginaw MI 48638. Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit and Rev. Fr. Thai Nguyen will co-officiate. Rite of Committal and Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Army will be held at St. Andrew Cemetery. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed.
