Obituary of Darrell D. Dixon

Dixon, Darrell D. Saginaw, Michigan Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare. He was 80 years old. One of 5 children, Darrell David Dixon was born October 10, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Walter and Grace (Fischer) Dixon. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1958. Darrell married Nathalie Grace Radina on October 19, 1963 in Saginaw, Michigan at Faith Lutheran Church. Darrell was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church and served as a council member, usher, and janitor. He loved watching John Wayne Movies. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching his favorite team, the San Francisco 49ers. Darrell loved playing soccer and taught his children how to play as well as serving as a soccer coach for several years. But, what he really loved most was spending time with his family, especially taking his children trick or treating or building snow forts with them. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Nathalie Dixon; children, Jeffrey (Deborah) Dixon of Saginaw, Gregory (fiancé Carrie Metzger) Dixon of Sparta, and Rebecca (Mark) Swanson of Saginaw; grandchildren, Cody, Kristopher, Karin, Joseph, Jody, Haley, Aaron, and Benjamin; great grandchildren, Copelynn and Harper; his favorite dog, Teddy; siblings, Larry (Faye) Dixon of Tavaras, Florida, Lindy (Jeffery) Houghton; sister in-law, Janet Dixon; brother in-law, Robert Radina and many nieces and nephews. Darrell was preceded in death by his siblings, Rodney Dixon and Sandra (Jack) Kuhn. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor John Soyster will officiate. Committal service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required, social distancing, and gathering guidelines will be observed.
