Obituary of Toni S. Davis-Harrison

Davis-Harrison, Toni Suzanne Thomas Township, Michigan Toni Davis-Harrison, 66, of Saginaw, Michigan died Wednesday, November 25, 2020. She was born and raised in Saginaw, graduating from Arthur Hill in 1972. She attended SVSU. She had a diverse career, working at Studio Five; Banana Tree; playing violin in the Saginaw Valley String Ensemble, office manager of Mallinckrodt Nuclear Medicine, and co-owner of River Horse Books with her good friend Don Brink. She was most proud of enlisting in the United States Coast Guard on June 8, 1988. She would rise to the rank of Yeoman 1st Class having served for 25 years. Toni was awarded numerous citations. She was deployed during Hurricane Katrina (New Orleans) and Deepwater Horizon (Mobile, Alabama). She retired from USCG, Sector Detroit on June 8, 2013. She met the love of her life, Norman, at the post party of the 10 mile Crim Road Race in August, 1994. They married on January 19, 1997. Toni and Norman adopted two children from Russia on December 26, 2001, Yaroslav "Slava" and Valentina "Vala" Harrison. She is survived by her husband, Norman and her two children, Slava and Vala. Predeceasing her were her parents, Robert and Gloria Davis; and her brother and sister in-law Michael and Kathy Davis. Toni was passionate for living life. This included her joy of raising her dogs and cats. She had a green thumb and she loved the arts and crafts. She traveled the world and loved spending time in Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, and Dominica as well as her parent's house in Harrison. She loved to cook and to host gatherings for friends and family. She was a great mother and wife. She had many close and lifetime friends, too many to mention. Toni was a long time member of the YMCA and for years was very active in the racquetball leagues. She was very committed to her faith. The Harrison family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Covenant Healthcare (Harrison & Cooper Campus) for their excellent care. FUNERAL SERVICE: To honor Toni's Jewish faith, the funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2020 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rabbi Dorit Edut will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Coast Guard and VFW Post # 1859.
