Obituary of Domingo Santos Cirilo

Cirilo, Domingo Santos Largo, Florida (Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan) Passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Oak Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Largo, Florida. He was 86 years old. Domingo was born on November 19, 1933 in Sinton, Texas. He was the son of the late Francisco and Bartola (Garcia) Cirilo. Domingo was employed by Malleable Iron (General Motors) until his retirement in 1989. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Margarita (Lopez) Cirilo. Domingo was an accomplished musician who sang, played guitar and was known for his accordion talent. His musical career spanned over 4 decades. His bands included his brother Demencio, Compadre and great vocalist, Javier Flores and many other musicians such as Frank Lugo and Eddie Serrato (both formerly with the bands Question? And the Mysterians) who had had the million selling hit "96 Tears". Domingo also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending their games and other school events. He will be dearly missed. Domingo is survived by his first wife, Tomasa Cirilo, mother of his children, Rick Cirilo, Sylvia Cirilo, and Tammy Carrillo. He is also survived by his son, Steve Menzel; daughter, Sandy Ortega; and stepchildren: Josie (Jeff) Lucas, Augustin Saucedo, Elena Trevino, and Ramiro Saucedo. Domingo had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Special recognition is given to Elena Lamb who had a close relationship with him and provided additional care in the last months of his life. Besides his parents, Domingo was preceded in death by his son, Domingo Santos Cirilo Jr.; brothers and sisters: Frances, Trinidad, Marcelino, Lupe, Demencio, Carlo and Felix Cirilo; grandson, Francisco Cirilo II and nephew, Jose Luis Sanchez. A memorial service for Domingo will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Parish, 936 N 6th Ave, Saginaw, MI 48601.
