Helpap, Dennis Edwin
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved son and brother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 61 years old. Dennis Edwin Helpap was born on December 21, 1958 to George Henry Harold and Elline Gertrude (Hecht) Helpap. Dennis attended Arthur Hill High School, the Millet Center, Community Ties North and the Fowler Center. He enjoyed being a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, where he sang God's praises, and visited with Pastor Krueger. Dennis also participated in the Peace Lutheran Church's Special Bible Class. Dennis liked to go for rides in the Volkswagen, Jeep and RV, often stopping to get a bite to eat or to have a Slurpee. Many special afternoons were spent on the front porch in his red rocking chair with his radio. He could often be found wearing his favorite orange T-Shirt, orange knee socks and orange tennis shoes. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his furry friends, Hazel, Otis, Masen and Kayla. Dennis also loved watching sports, especially the Lions and Broncos, and attending Spirit Hockey Games.
Dennis is survived by his mother, Elline G. Helpap and two sisters: Patricia Helpap and June Ford.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, George H. Helpap; brother, Kenneth G. Helpap; brother-in-law, James B. Ford and his nephew, Matthew James Ford.
We give thanks to our Lord for the love and blessings He showered upon Dennis for 61 years and for taking him home to be with Him forever in the peace and joy of heaven. Dennis' family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the many Doctor's and caregivers, VNA staff, and dear friends that offered care and support throughout the years.
