Obituary of Sharon Cabala Clarke

Our beloved mother, sister, teacher and dear friend passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was 82 years old. Sharon Lee Eurick was born on July 24, 1938 in Saginaw to the late Otto and June (Landskroener) Eurick. She graduated from Saginaw High School in 1956, and then attended Bay City Junior College. Sharon married Charles Stanley "Stan" Cabala on September 13, 1958. Together they were blessed with two children: David and Cristin. Stan preceded Sharon in death on May 4, 1988. As a lifelong learner, Sharon earned a Master's Degree from both Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University in Education. Sharon spent over 40 years teaching at Robert B. Havens Elementary School within the Swan Valley School District. She had a specialty in reading, and a passion for teaching. Sharon retired in 1999. She married Horace J. "Bud" Clarke on April 25, 1999, he preceded her in death on May 1, 2007. Sharon spent many fall afternoons watching her brothers play and coach football, and was an avid Notre Dame fan. She loved to spend time at Marco Island, Florida, travel and enjoying a glass of wine with friends. Her fun loving, sweet spirit and infectious smile will be deeply missed by all of those who she met and taught.
Sharon is survived by her son: David (Bonnie) Cabala and grandson, Brandon; daughter, Cristin Cabala and her fiancé, Dan Lukas; brothers: Jim (JoAnn) Eurick and Terry (Margo) Eurick; several nieces, nephews, extended family and students.
FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Sharon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at St. Dominic Parish - St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with entombment to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State)., Saginaw, MI. A Vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Sharon will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In keeping with the safety for Sharon's family and visitors, masks will be required, social distancing will be observed and limitations on attendance will be followed.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the East Side Soup Kitchen.
