Obituary of Jesse Ramirez Salcedo

Salcedo, Jesse R. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away early Sunday morning, September 20, 2020 with his family by his side. Jesse was 75 years old. He was born October 14, 1944 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Simon and Josefina (Ramirez) Salcedo. Jesse retired from General Motors Malibu plant, after 32 years. In his younger years Jesse participated with his father in the La Union Civica Mexicana. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Jesse loved to listen to music especially Tejano and Conjunto. He played the drums, trumpet, accordion, bass and was in a band in his younger years with his brothers. Jesse also enjoyed swimming, taking walks, cooking, dancing and traveling. He was known to be very lucky at the casino. Jesse loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family and spent time with them every chance he could. Jesse is survived by his three siblings; Antonio Salcedo, Mario (Dolores) Salcedo and Elizabeth Rasmussen, five children; Rosalie, Kristina (Miguel), Jesse and Rachel (Armando) Salcedo and Augustine Gonzales, four step-children; Flora Boyd, David, Timothy and Gilbert Gonzales, 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by nine siblings; Simon, Frank and Angelo Salcedo, Josephine Rico, Carlos Salcedo, Cathy Lara, George, Margaret and Frank Salcedo. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph Catholic Church (910 N. 6th Ave. Saginaw, MI 48601) with Rev. Fr. Francis Voris OFM Cap to officiate. Cremation to follow. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State) on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00 -8:00 PM. In keeping with State Mandated Guidelines masks will be required, social distancing will be observed and limitations on the number in attendance will be enforced. MEMORIALS: Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Joseph Catholic Church.
