Obituary of James Louis Mocny

Mocny, James L. Frankenmuth, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital; age 91. James was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Casimir and Ruth (Heindel) Mocny. He was married to Donna Lou Schiefer on July 2, 1949 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Saginaw. She predeceased him on November 3, 2011. James retired in 1987 from General Motors Corp. Saginaw Steering Gear Division. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Saginaw. James is survived by five sons: Michael Mocny, Joseph Mocny, John (Susan) Mocny, Theodore Mocny and Edward (Donna) Mocny; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two brothers: Richard (Nancy) Mocny, Robert (Toshie) Mocny; and one sister-in-law, Milda Persons. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for James will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate with rite of committal to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In keeping with State Mandated Guidelines masks will be required, social distancing will be observed and limitations on the number in attendance will be enforced.
