DONNENWERTH, Thomas "Tom" E. of Zilwaukee, Michigan, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan. Age 82 years. Thomas Donnenwerth was born on July 4, 1930 in Saginaw, to the late Edward and Edna (Johnson) Donnenwerth. He was married to Alice Ely; she survives him. He had been employed by U.S. Graphite. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tom was Past President of the Lions Club and a volunteer firefighter in Zilwaukee. He loved to read, listen to music and was a talented artist. Surviving are wife Alice, three sons and one daughter: Edward (Debi) Donnenwerth, Paul (Ruth) Donnenwerth, Morris (Melanie) Donnenwerth and Sandra (Dan) Behling, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Allen Donnenwerth and a sister, Ivaloe Maxwell. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, September 20, 2012, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
