Obituary of Thomas James Karnosky

Karnosky, Thomas J. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away at New Hope Valley Assisted Living on September 1, 2020. Tom was born on January 27, 1926 to Stanley and Anna (Yucius) Karnosky in Livingston, Illinois where he completed high school and later married Betty Jean Stoiser on June 28, 1947. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps as an aerial gunnery instructor. A University of Illinois graduate, he joined Central Foundry Division of General Motors where he worked for 36 years. Community involvements were primarily in United Way for which he served on several boards of directors. He was a long time member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, Saginaw Country Club, Saginaw Club, American Legion and Mensa.
Besides Betty, Tom is survived by his sister, Sister Mary Stanley of Springfield, Illinois; three children: James of Saginaw, David of Midland and Jody (Tom) Sakorafis of Oro Valley, Arizona, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and god-children.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deisler Funeral Home and include a private memorial with a mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church and entombment in St. Andrew Mausoleum at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Dominic Catholic Church.
