Sanford, ST Saginaw Twp., Michigan ST passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years old. ST Sanford was born on April 25, 1949 in Saginaw, to the late Gustave R. and Mary (Bushong) Sanford. He attended school in Freeland and then as a young man started working at Burt Watson as a mechanic. He retired from Burt Watson after 30 years of service. ST married Maribeth Meirhoter on March 1, 1971, she survived him. ST enjoyed looking for deer and sitting outdoors. He would have many good conversations and visits with family and friends when they would stop by. ST met his sweetheart, Maribeth Meirhofer, and they were married on March 1, 1971 in Saginaw. He loved taking care of and brushing his calico cat, Lollipop. ST is survived by his loving wife, Maribeth; sons: ST (Jeff) Sanford Jr. and David Allen (Barbara) Sanford; grandchildren: Easton James Sanford; Emily Joy Sanford and Aaron James Sanford; great grandchildren: Madilyn Claire and Noah James; siblings: Deforest (Marty) Sanford, Grace Haner, Leila Schaefer, Denice (Steven) Brandt, Mary Lynn Reis, Gustave Sanford and James (Debbie) Sanford; sister-in-law: Lori Sanford; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. ST was preceded in death by his brothers: John Sanford and Kevin Sanford. According to ST's wishes cremation has taken place, and his family will gather privately to celebrate his life. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Amazing Grace Animal Rescue. The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd.
