Campbell, Earl V. Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend left this earthly life and was welcomed into heaven by his Lord and loving wife, Lois on Wednesday, July 15, 2020. He was 89 years old. Earl Vernell Campbell was born on February 22, 1931 in Midland, MI to the late Sidney and Lela (Neal) Campbell. Earl attended school in Midland, and was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for the Railroad, and then traveled working construction in Florida and also was a painter on the Mackinaw Bridge. Earl came to settle in Saginaw and worked for General Motors as an accomplished painter, retiring after over 30 years of service. He married Lois A. (Thompson) Spindler on August 2, 1975, together they celebrated 30 wonderful years before her passing on March 11, 2006. Earl was a yard/garage sale king, and enjoyed many days driving his truck enjoying old country music and finding a good sale. He loved to harass his grandchildren, keeping them on their toes with his quick wit and humor. Earl could also be found in his yard fixing a new found treasure or tending to his roses. Earl will be deeply missed by his daughter, Laura Thompson; his step-children: Jack (B.J.) Lawrence, Bob (Kathy) Spindler, Cindy (Ray) Loos and Theresa (Paul) Hallock ; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley DeBolt; brother, Larry (Linda) Campbell; special nephew, Robert Pittman. Earl is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois; siblings: Eloise Campbell, Allen Campbell, Carl Campbell, Mildred Brown, Neil Campbell, Sidney Campbell and Marie Garrish; and several nieces and nephews. Earl's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caregiver, Jeanine; the Southern Care Hospice Team, and the many people who have supported Earl and his family. FUNERAL: A funeral service to celebrate Earl's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Paul Biber will officiate. Military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W. Post #1859 will follow the funeral service. In keeping with mandated ordinances and for the safety of the community, face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. According to Earl's wishes cremation will follow the service. For those that are unable to attend the service for Earl, it will be live streamed at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/46757982, starting approximately at 4:00 p.m. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
