Ignacia "Nancy" Fulgencio July 31, 1941 - July 1, 2020 Round Rock, Texas Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was 78 years old. Nancy Castanon was born on July 31, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Juan and Socorro (Ortega) Castanon. She married the love of her life, Hector Fulgencio on October 8, 1960; he preceded her in death on October 14, 2000. Nancy was a member of Shoreline Church where she attended with her family. Throughout the years, Nancy would babysit and care for her many grandchildren. Nancy enjoyed cooking, watching sports, listening to music, catching up with Michigan friends & family via phone, and hanging out with her beloved Chihuahua, "Daisy". Nancy enjoyed reminiscing and sharing stories about the life her and Hector had built together. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. The family would like to acknowledge the healthcare and service that Nancy received from her caretaker, Robin Bradshaw. The Fulgencio family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Laura Martinez and Rosa Fulgencio for the love and care they provided to Nancy in her final days. Surviving are six sons: Robert (Mary Jo) of Saginaw, MI; Anthony (Theresa), Juan (Mary Ann), David (Liani), Daniel (Anita), and Raymond, all of Round Rock, TX; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four sisters and two brothers: Jovita Isquierdo of Denver, CO; Ida (Frank) Rocha of Saginaw, MI; Elena (David) Ortiz of Saginaw, MI; Cristina Castanon of San Antonio, TX; Trinidad (Betty) Castanon of Round Rock, TX, and Joe (Margaret) Castanon of Saginaw, MI; one stepsister and two stepbrothers: Yolanda (Barney) Guzman; John Castanon and Armando (Sylvia) Castanon all of Saginaw, MI. Also surviving are many special nieces and nephews that she shared a bond, especially Margaret Salazar of Saginaw, MI, and a dear close family friend, Margie Mendez of Pflugerville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hector; three brothers and one sister: Vincent, Arthur, and Richard Castanon; and Josephine Ortega. Honoring Nancy's wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to La Rondalla of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saginaw, MI.
