Wressell, James "Jim" Saginaw Twp., Michigan Our hardworking, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84 years old. James Richard Wressell was born on March 16, 1936 in Saginaw to the late Alfred and Evelyn (Rousseau) Wressell. Jim attended St. Andrew High School and then started to work at General Motors. Jim married his childhood sweetheart, Valeria A. Brasseur on June 22, 1957. He proudly served his country with the United States Army Reserves. Jim retired from General Motors in 1999, after 47 years of service. His passion was with antique and classic cars and classic wooden boats, holding memberships with Cars of the Past Touring Club. Jim was a father figure to many, including his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighbors. Jim dedicated many volunteer hours in his community and with the Saginaw Westside Lions Club. He loved to keep himself busy and help those around him. During retirement he loved dancing with his wife at country music concerts and spend time with those he loved. Jim is survived by his wife, Valeria A. Wressell; son, Jeffrey (Andrea) Wressell; grandchildren: Lily, Evan and Kiran Wressell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harold Keene, Charmaine (Tom) Girrbach, Jeanine (Dan) Cox and Mary Jeanne Brasseur. Jim will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Gene (Ortelle) Wressell, Jack (Dorothy) Wressell, Leo (Verna) Wressell and Raymond Wressell; sisters: Mary Stelzriede, June Keene, Janet (Patrick) Harden and Margaret Ann Wressell. According to Jim's wishes cremation has taken place, and the family will celebrate his life together at a later date. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Saginaw Habitat for Humanity.
